Gavin Warner
Camp Art Instructor
Gavin Warner was born in Cincinnati, Ohio (b.2001) and grew up in a small town in the area. They earned a BFA in Art Practices and a BA in Japanese Language and Culture from the University of Boulder, Colorado (May 2023). They take particular interest in flora and fauna, storytelling, fashion, and concept, which comes together in their art practice (drawing, textiles, installation, and video/performance).
Their work is an exploration of lived experience, human connection, folklore, transformation, and identity through the lens of the natural world. Their current work explores the idea of ‘living memories’ that piece together
natural objects, memories, and shared experience. These ideas are manifested through layered drawings, textile manipulation, and watercolor washes that come together to create ephemeral and enlivened illustrations.
