30 Years of Impact: By the Numbers

For 30 years, the Wyoming Fine Arts Center has been a hub of connection, creativity, and belonging.

By the numbers - in the last year, the Center offered 4,053 arts learning activities for 1,165 K-12 students, plus 256 free or low-cost community programs that reached 3,685 people across the region. Through partnerships with six Cincinnati Public Library branches, we deliver free art classes in neighborhoods citywide, and five local nonprofit organizations call WFAC home

But we are so much more than those numbers. We make a real, human IMPACT. National studies now confirm what our community has always known: the arts make life better.

WFAC Makes Us Healthier, Smarter, and More Successful

Each year, thousands of local youth study music, visual art, dance and theater at the Center, building creativity alongside the persistence, confidence, and communication that carry into every subject and career.

  • Arts learners show up to a quarter of a grade-level improvement in writing and language skills and are more likely to graduate college and pursue professional careers.

  • National workforce studies show that arts engagement builds collaboration, innovation, and adaptability – the top skills employers seek.

And the benefits extend across a lifetime.

  • Older adults who engage in the arts have a 63% lower risk of dementia, report fewer doctor visits, and experience better mood and wellbeing.

  • Even short creative sessions make a difference – just 45 minutes of artmaking can lower the stress hormone cortisol by 25%.

WFAC Drives Economic Growth and Strong Communities

At WFAC, we employ and contract with over 40 local teaching artists, host events that draw thousands of visitors, and keep opportunity circulating through Wyoming and Greater Cincinnati.

  • Every $1 invested in the arts returns about $7 in community spending, meaning local restaurants, shops, and small businesses thrive when creativity is alive.

Community surveys show that: 82% of Americans believe the arts are essential to a thriving community, and 70% say local arts experiences make them feel more connected to their neighbors.

  • Cities with vibrant arts scenes see higher civic participation, volunteerism, and voter turnout, and residents are more likely to stay and invest where the arts are strong.

WFAC Makes the Arts Accessible to All

Nearly one in five families in our private lesson programs receives tuition assistance, ensuring equitable access to creative opportunity.

Our shared-space model allows resident organizations to offer additional programs at low or no cost, keeping creativity within everyone’s reach.

Generations of alumni return as parents, donors, and volunteers, keeping the creative cycle thriving.

Your donation keeps the arts accessible, ensures every child can participate, and strengthens the web of belonging that holds our community together.

That’s the legacy of 30 years at The Center, and the future we’re asking you to help sustain. 💛 Help us reach $30,000 to sustain 30 years of creative connection.
