Freylekh Trio at the Village Green
Spend a summer evening with live classical music on the Wyoming Village Green. The Freylekh Trio — soprano, violin, and piano — performs Yiddish folk songs: melodies rooted in Jewish tradition that are joyful, expressive, and connected to the human experience. It's a repertoire that doesn't get heard often enough, and this free outdoor concert is a rare chance to experience it live. Co-hosted by the City of Wyoming and Wyoming Fine Arts Center.
About the Ensemble:
The Freylekh Trio—comprised of soprano Kimberly Gelbwasser Lazzeri, violinist William Herzog, and pianist Christina Lalog Seal—brings together three artist-scholars from Northern Kentucky University’s School of the Arts who share a passion for storytelling through song. Their debut recording, Freylekh: A “joyful” rediscovery of De Cormier’s Yiddish Folksongs, reimagines these timeless melodies with vibrant musicianship and heartfelt connection. Drawing on their combined expertise in voice, strings, and keyboard, the ensemble creates performances that blend artistry, scholarship, and cultural rediscovery. With a commitment to sharing the expressive depth of Jewish folk tradition, the Freylekh Trio invites audiences into a musical world where joy, resilience, and community resonate through every note.
