Family Arts Passport: Feb.27, CINCINNATI KING at Playhouse in the Park

$65.00

About Family Arts Passport

Family Arts Passport is a new program from Wyoming Fine Arts Center that helps families navigate Cincinnati's major arts institutions together. This year, we're taking four trips:

  • La Bohème at CCM – October 31

  • The Art of Charley Harper at the Cincinnati Art Museum – January 24

  • CINCINNATI KING at Playhouse in the Park – February 27

  • A baseball-themed Family Concert with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra – April 3

Each trip has three parts. Before the event, we'll learn about what we're going to see and meet some of the people who make it. Then we'll experience it together. Afterward, we'll talk about what stood out and make art in response, led by teaching artists Sergio Aguillón-Mata and Annie Ruth.

We take care of the details. Every trip includes bus transportation from WFAC, tickets, and a meal.

CINCINNATI KING, written and directed by KJ Sanchez, is a new play set in a bar and a recording studio. The show shares behind-the-scenes tales of King Records hits including “The Twist,” “Blues Stay Away From Me,” “Fever” and “Need Your Love So Bad.” Cincinnati King shines a spotlight on this revolutionary music label and its Queen City roots.

RUNNING TIME: The show runs approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, including one intermission.
