Heidi Flanders has been teaching Suzuki violin and piano in the Cincinnati area for over 19 years. Growing up in the Suzuki tradition, she began piano at the age of 4 and violin at 5. Advancing her music education, she received her B.M. and M.M. in performance at the University of Kansas City- Conservatory of Music and the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, respectively. She has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber player, as well as, teaching at several workshops in the Midwest. Her training has been with Suzuki pedagogues: Alice Joy Lewis, Kathy Wood, Nancy Lokken, Craig Timmerman, Linda Stieg, Marilyn O’Boyle, Nehama Patkin, Dorris Harrel, Rita Hauck, and Mary Craig Powell, among others. Heidi presently teaches out of her home studio and continues to experience and explore the Suzuki Triangle with her own children- as a parent!
