Teacher Extraordinaire – Rosa Compostella

IMG_8160-crop2

Born in Verona, Italy, Rosa Compostella graduated as a Ballet Teacher at the “Accademia Nazionale di Danza” (National Dance Academy) of Rome, Italy in 1987. After graduation, Rosa taught at various ballet schools in the Verona area and took part in performances and ballet events in the greater northern Italian region. In 1993 Rosa and her family moved to the United States.

Upon moving to Cincinnati in 1997, and for the following eleven years, Rosa has been a part of the staff of teachers at “Ballet Tech Ohio” in Mason, a school directed by Claudia Rudolf Barrett. There she taught ballet to young students age 6 to 14 and to adults. In 2009 Rosa joined the the faculty of Cincinnati Ballet Academy, where she still teaches.

Rosa has always enjoyed teaching ballet. Her teaching focuses on the dance fundamental and the correct posture, providing proper and strong foundation for the future learning of each student. Rosa believes that it is very important to prepare the student with a solid and correct technique from the early stages of dance instruction and that mastering a good technique is a great achievement even for those students that will not become professional dancers.
