Pam Jurgens – Celtic Harp / Piano

pam-jurgens

Pam Jurgens is a native of Cincinnati and has been teaching classroom and private music lessons to children and adults for over 30 years. After graduating from Mt. St Joseph College, Pam’s professional teaching career began as an elementary classroom teacher. Her background in piano and guitar soon led her to elementary school music teaching. She received an M. Ed. in music and education from Northern Kentucky University with a concentration in piano.

As a general music teacher Pam has taught music K-8 in the parochial schools for 16 years and grades K-6 for Fairfield City Schools for over 14 years. At Fairfield she received grants to create both a keyboard lab and a guitar program for grades five and six. For eight years she directed the Summer Music and Drama Workshops at Nativity School. She is a certified Orff music educator, Levels 1 and 2.

In 2001, Pam fell in love with the magical sound of the Celtic harp and has been studying, playing and performing ever since. She has been fortunate to be able to study with Pamela Bruner, Kim Robertson, and Marta Cook.

Pam’s greatest joy is sharing her love and enthusiasm for the Celtic harp with students of all ages. In addition to teaching, Pam is an active soloist, and performs with the Midnight Rose Trio. She offers piano lessons and private and group harp lessons for children and adults at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center.

Feel free to read one of our parent’s perspective on harp lessons here. His daughter studied at the Center since the age 5.
