Class is offered on:
- NEW DAY!! – Wednesdays 3:30 – 5 pm
This class caters to the individual artist on their particular journey- portfolio development, personal projects all are welcome. An ongoing challenge in art making. Each student receives individualized attention to their project. However, students looking for creative outlet and not wanting to work on a portfolio are also welcome to this class.
In general, high school class continues with work on drawing as the next level for each artist is explored. Students will find themselves in a environment that compliments previous experience and personal artistic goals. Those who wish to build an art portfolio will find guidance and inspiration. Students are active participants in their learning, choosing projects, materials and ideas to suit their particular skill level and experience. If you have been through the art studio before, new class will build on skills already learned, there is much more to be learned and experienced! Veteran students will find new projects with more fun challenges awaiting.
The weekly course is a part of a yearlong, on-going, sequential curriculum that focuses on drawing in the fall and then builds to include printmaking, collage, painting and sculpture in the Winter and Spring. The classes are structured like an artist’s studio: a place for students to explore materials, processes and ideas through the guidance of the teacher.
During the fall quarter, drawing skills are the focus. Drawing is the foundation of art for a number of reasons: it perfects fine motor skills in the younger student, discipline in all ages, and teaches students to see objects and the world around them in ways they never have before.
For the most part, Art Classes, can be started at any time during the year. For class not started at the beginning of the quarter, tuition is prorated to reflect the start date. Please call us for details.
