Dance & Musical Theater Programs

Goal of the class is to teach students Musical Theater skills (speaking, singing, acting and dancing) while working together to stage a fabulous production at the end of each session. (Productions TBA.) Rehearsing and presenting a musical will foster students’ creativity, responsibility, independence, teamwork, and dedication. It will also strengthen social/communication skills and self-esteem through students’ learning to work together and taking pride in their accomplishments.
Theater has a unique characteristic of combining the elements of study and play. While having fun, students will be boosting valuable academic skills: enhancing reading (learning and performing lines), math (designing sets), and social studies (exploring settings, characters and choreography).
The class will culminate with a dynamic performance at the end of the session. Material worked on is different the two sessions offered (fall & spring), and students are welcome to sign-up for the second session without attending the first.
We are currently working on our Spring Musical: Once Upon A Mattress, and cannot take any new registrations at this time. However, we will have 2 Musical Theater camps this Summer. Check them out here!
